SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

We are committed to the care of all children and vulnerable adults who use the Padstow and Community Transport Minibus. We work hard to ensure that we operate in line with current best practice. This includes areas such as day-to-day care, recruitment of staff and volunteers, DBS clearance and training.

If you would like more information or wish to share a concern, please contact our Safeguarding Officer, Sandra Wood: pdctminibus@outlook.com

All concerns raised will be investigated and action taken in line with safeguarding policies and procedures. Confidentiality will be maintained to the fullest practical extent, the main exceptions being when someone is at risk.

What our users say

  • “The Carer’s Club has been a regular user of the Padstow Community Minibus for a number of years. Many of our members have mobility issues and the facility for wheelchair users is invaluable. We have members from Padstow and several surrounding villages and in most cases they do not have access to their own or public transport. The Minibus enables these isolated people to access the various events that we organise and to enjoy each other’s company on the journey”

  • “I have no transport and the Minibus has made it possible for me to get to a wellbeing cafe. This has made my life worth living. I was in a very bad frame of mind before attending this wonderful place.”

  • “The use of the Padstow Community Minibus is a vital resource for our organisation. We depend on the hire of their minibus to be able to transport our cadets and volunteers to courses and events that allows our young people to meet and engage with other Sea Cadets from across the country and South West Area.”

  • “Such a great facility, thank you very much for the hire.”
